MY WHEATBELT STORY

Want your story featured in The Wheatbelt Series? Awesome - we are pumped to see what you come up with!

Here’s the lowdown - write a story about life in your town (or district). It could be about your hometown, an awesome person who lives there, or a creative fiction set all around your place. The choice is totally yours.

Save your story as a PDF, attach it to the form below and hit Send.

Don’t forget the photo! Snap a landscape pic that connects to your story - it can be anything from a stunning shot of your town to a snapshot that helps bring your tale to life.

Most important of all is this - CLIRA is all about spreading good vibes and celebrating everything fantastic about living in regional Australia. So make sure your story is upbeat and positive—this isn’t the place for “Debbie Downer” stories!

Show off what makes your community amazing and let your voice shine!

A few ground rules:

  • This is about encouraging young people to write and so we are limiting the opportunity to secondary school students only for now.
  • The photo must be one that you took with your own camera or mobile device.
  • The story must be no more than 1500 words.
  • It must be written by you and not by AI - we have ways of checking that!
  • We will ask you for some contact details in the form below. We will publish the story only using your first name and your town / district (e.g. Will from Bruce Rock). Other details won't be published.
  • Stories without a photo won't be published.
  • We reserve the right to publish or not publish any story we receive, based on our assessment of the previous points.

If you are OK with those rules, get writing. Once your story is complete, attach the story and photo to the form below and send it through.
